PHOTOPHORESIS
(ALSO CALLED PHOTO-OXIDATION)
What is photophoresis?
It is an oxygenation and ultraviolet light irradiation of the blood.
It's a natural healing method that has been used for over 50 years by
hundreds of European physicians. It is safe, non-toxic, and very effective.
photophoresis was the primary method used to treat infections before
antibiotics were discovered.
How is it administered?
The medical procedure involves a venipuncture into a large vein. Approximately
200 cc Of blood is then collected into a sterile container. The blood
is oxygenated, irradiated with an ultraviolet light. The cleansed blood
is then re-infused to the patient. The procedure takes approximately
40 minutes.
How does it work?
Biological photo-oxidation creates high energy molecules in the blood
that stimulate oxidation, the chemistry of life, in the body. The result
is a cleansing and healing effect. Bacteria, viruses, fungi, candida,
and toxins are removed and circulation is enhanced. These treatments
have also been reported to help inhibit cancer growth due to cancer's
aversion of oxygen, The cell of the body react to this treatment by
releasing important enzymes for cellular detoxification and for the
utilization of oxygen. This process improves energy production and heals
inflammations quickly by strengthening the immune defense system.
When is photophoresis indicated?
Medical applications for photophoresis include:
• Bacterial illness-pneumonia, colds, urinary tract infections
• Viral illness - flu, hepatitis, herpes, AIDS
• Microbial - gangrene, fungus, Candida
• Injuries - burns, radiation, trauma, wound healing
• Chronic illness - M.S., colitis, cancer, cardiovascular disease
• Radiation and chemotherapy - better tolerated and decreased
side effects, cardiovascular resolution.
What should I do after a treatment?
After receiving photophoresis, there are many important things you can
do to assist your body in the healing process.
(1) Most importantly, drink plenty of water.Your intake include 8 gasses
of pure water. This will help to flush out toxins more effectively.
(2) Make sure you are eliminating regularly. Toxins build up fast in
colon. Exercise, increasing fruit and fiber, having colonic therapy,
herbal laxatives or flax seed, as suggested below, may all assist you
in staying regular while you are healing.
What can I expect after a treatment?
Many people feel better immediately afterwards. Some describe having
more energy or feeling more clearheaded. Some people feel worse before
they feel better. This is because your body is actually detoxifying
from the treatment. The stimulated oxidation process can cause your
body to "break" an infection. Detoxification usually includes
feeling tired or run down, fever, chills, and general flu-like symptoms.
This will usually only last the night of your treatment, and most people
feel better afterwards. In individuals with weakened immune system (chronic
fatigue, Candida, multiple sensitivities, etc.), it may take up to four
treatments (rarely more) before the immune system, is noticeably better.
The treatment works on a cellular level and sometimes its' benefits
may not be obvious, but strengthening effects are usually noticed within
hours for acute infections.
